Tequoia Urbina – Award-Winning Filmmaker and Storyteller.

Tequoia Urbina is a celebrated screenwriter and filmmaker based in Atlanta, GA, with over 25 years of experience in TV and film. Her dynamic career has earned her multiple accolades, establishing her as a creative force in the industry.

 

As co-owner of the writing collective Nine Armadillos, Tequoia brings bold narratives to life. She is also a proud member of Women in Film and Television Atlanta (WIFTA), Femme Fatales, Women of Color Unite (WOCU), Alliance of Women Directors (AWD), and Film Impact GA—organizations dedicated to supporting women and diverse voices in the entertainment world.

Beyond her film and writing work, Tequoia is the founder and CEO of Vila da Magnolia, a nonprofit organization focused on nurturing the creative pursuits of artists. Her passion for education also shines through her role as an adjunct communications professor at Georgia Military College, where she inspires the next generation of storytellers.

 

Tequoia’s passion, dedication, and relentless creativity continue to push boundaries in storytelling and filmmaking.
